In The Heart of Oregon Wine Country

Todd Hansen, owner of Longplay Winery, contacted Web Steel Buildings NW about a pre-engineered metal building for a new winery and tasting room project in Newberg, Oregon. Todd had visited a recently completed winery and tasting room in nearby Dundee, where a pre-engineered metal building by Web Steel had been used, and he recognized the design flexibility, utility, and economy of using a pre-engineered metal building system for his new venture.

Todd secured the services of Telford+Brown Studio Architecture in Portland, Oregon for the building design, and Cornice Construction in Scappoose, Oregon for construction services.

Ground was broken in July 2020 and substantial completion was in May 2021.

Owner Todd Hansen’s thoughtful explanation of color choices for roof and wall panels: “I was walking and looking at the sky yesterday evening and I decided that the building will echo an Oregon sky in spring. With a white roof, gray (Galvalume) siding and somewhat darker gray trim (gutters) and gray insulated panel on the kitchen, and then a light sky blue for the openings – garage doors and man doors” – Reclaimed wood, taken from used vineyard poles, was resawn for use as the soffit material in the entry and sidewalk canopies.
