Why Steel?
High strength steel is used where it matters most – as the primary structural member. No wood in the ground.
Why Wood?
Low cost and versatile. Wood studs are a much better insulator than steel. Steel conducts heat and cold at a rate 10 times greater than wood. With wood sidewall girts and roof purlins spaced 2 feet on center, insulating is simple and economical.
Why Both?
Wouldn’t you like to have a building that offers the best of both worlds? Strength, versatility and economy all in a simple building design that utilizes standard construction techniques and tools saving valuable time and money.
Web Steel’s Hybrid building system has evolved over the years in response to our customers’ requests for straight and solid steel legs to more easily accommodate interior finishing. The legs and trusses are either solid I-beams or built-up plate and flanges. And just like the Vaulted and Delta buildings the girts (wall) and purlins (roof) are typically wood and attached to pre-welded steel clips on 24″ centers making the installation of insulation, entry doors, windows, large overhead doors easy.
